About this Event

As part of their exhibition Lino Waves: Soundscapes of The Living Coast, artist Daisy Stewart-Darling will host a Meditative Lino Printmaking Workshop exploring the UNESCO biosphere region unique to the Sussex coastline.

Join us for a mindful workshop where you’ll listen to ecological sites of interest within The Living Coast while creating your own lino prints. The session will feature an introduction to the exhibition theme of sound ecology including a deep listening exercise. Afterwards, you’ll be led through a process of creating your own lino prints inspired by The Living Coast.

All materials for cutting and printing on plant-based lino sheets are included. No prior experience of lino printmaking is required.

About the artist

Daisy Stewart-Darling is a sound artist based in St Leonards-on-Sea, East Sussex. Her practice is research-led and centred around creating accessible conversations about sound ecology to engage wider publics in listening more intently. Under the pseudonym, ‘Daisy Does Lino’, she started sharing her self-taught journey with lino printmaking under the in 2021. Since then Daisy has been experimenting with lino as a visual component within installation projects. Alongside this, she runs mindful lino-making workshops in her community, and enjoys making music from field recordings on her adventures out and about.
