This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to slow down, unwind and hang out with other lovely folks interested in meditation. We will gently explore techniques that cultivate tranquility, deep presence and compassion.
This is a self-directed retreat - meaning you can practice/participate as much or little as you like - so for those new to meditation, this is a supportive, gentle space to learn about mindfulness. For more experienced practitioners, this is a great opportunity to deepen your practice in a serene environment. Outside of group activities, silence will be maintained inside the building to cultivate a very calm, introspective experience and to deepen inner quiet.
Erin and Tanya are certified meditation teachers with many years experience, and are looking forward to creating a welcoming, warm space for practice. They will be offering daily meditation instruction, yoga and relaxation practices (including crystal bowl sound meditations) with opportunities for group discussion and Q&A periods.
The historic Mount Carmel Spiritual Center, located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, is a perfect, serene venue for a nourishing, restorative retreat. There is lots of free parking on the grounds, and while we encourage participants to minimize the use of electronics, there is free wifi. There is also a beautiful indoor labyrinth available for walking meditation.
All accommodations are private with their own bath. Fresh, vegetarian buffet-style meals are provided, as well as a 24 hour beverage and snack lounge.
