Welcome to the Meditation Foundations Workshop at the Garden of Healing Yoga & Wellness Center! This experience is in person and online.
Meditation can feel overwhelming for many people. Some struggle with racing thoughts, others have tried only one method that never quite fit, and many believe they “can’t meditate.” The truth is, meditation has many doorways — and with the right guidance, everyone can find a practice that works for them.
Meditation Foundations: Many Paths to One-Pointed Focus introduces participants to different approaches to meditation, including breath awareness, seated stillness, walking meditation, and vocal mantra (japa). The aim is not to make the mind perfectly blank, but to offer practical tools for focusing attention, calming the nervous system, and cultivating clarity; to carve out a space where the mind can rest, and where the body can have a break from the constant biochemical messages of a busy mind.
This workshop provides an opportunity to sample various methods in a supportive environment, so you can discover the one that feels natural for you. You’ll leave with one practice to carry forward for 40 days — a steady anchor you can return to whenever life feels scattered or overwhelming.

Core Inner Work
Info: This is the heart of our practice. This session guides participants through several distinct meditation modalities. We’ll begin with breath awareness and seated focus, transition into mindful walking, and then explore the power of sound through mantra practice. Each modality offers a unique entry point to stillness and concentration.
The experience is not about “doing meditation right,” but about noticing which practice resonates most strongly with you. By the end, you’ll identify one approach that feels supportive and sustainable — the practice you’ll carry forward for 40 days as part of the Autumn Vitality challenge.

Reset & Integration
Info: Every LifeWork block also closes with a Reset. This phase helps your body and mind absorb the work you’ve just done. Through guided rest, sound, and reflection, you transition gently so the practice doesn’t end abruptly but settles into your system. This is what makes the experience not just powerful in the moment, but sustainable after the fact.
