Using mediation to get to know yourself.Wednesdays 1-2pm

In these Term 1 sessions we will work consistently with guided as well as personal meditations. The long-term goal is to work towards balancing and stilling the mind and opening the heart-mind to access a state of emotional freedom, inner peace and balance which is our natural state of being.
This special function of meditation is to unite our inner and outer world instead of rejecting one for the other. In this way it is a major tool in the development of the overall theme of these sessions ‘Getting-to-Know Yourself’ - which includes getting to know how the programmed personality mind works and how fears affect emotions and behaviour in the outer.
Activities will include looking into research on some common fears and beliefs that cause conflict and negative reactions - obstacles to our inner peace and balance. This research will be tested against recognising our own fears such as fear of rejection, failure, death, etc; our negative emotions such as anger, jealousy, arrogance, inferiority etc; and our negative behaviours such as judging, criticising, gossiping, deceiving etc..
The ongoing development of our ‘Emotional Literacy’ and self-awareness will be further enhanced by investigating ways of removing these obstacles to inner peace and balance from our minds – and to heal and free ourselves from negativity.
The option of bypassing the ego personality mind – with its illusions, fears, beliefs and prejudices – will also be examined and meditation will continue to be an integral part of this process towards healing and freeing ourselves from negativity.
