You have heard that Meditation is good for you, but just how do you begin? How do you know you are doing it “right”? How do you calm your chattering mind? What’s in it for you?
In this 5-week series, you will learn basic techniques for starting or enhancing a personal home meditation practice.
Course objectives:
- Participants will learn how to set up a home meditation space
- Participants will learn 8-10 evidence based benefits of a regular Meditation practice
- Participants will learn 5 basic meditation techniques;
Breath Awareness Meditation/Body Scan
Mantra Meditation
Heart Centered Meditation
Loving-Kindness Meditation
Yoga Nidra
What should I bring to class:
Comfortable clothes for sitting
Yoga mat, bolster, blanket, or chair
A Mala if you have one
Your Meditation 101 folder/notebook
An open mind and open heart
Class Organization:
Short, guided grounding Meditation
5-10 minute check-in (How was your week?)
10-15 minutes Didactic information on specific technique
20-25 minute Meditation practice
10 minutes for questions and closure

Meet your facilitator:
Christina Mitchell, MS, RN, CNM, RYT500. Chris is trained in Prenatal yoga, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Restorative Yoga, Yoga for Healthy Aging and Meditation instruction. She considers herself an life-long learner and loves studying the spiritual aspects of Yoga philosophy. It is her belief that Yoga is for EveryBODY and that its benefits are accessible to all.
