“Peace does not happen by accident.”Meditation has been around for centuries. It’s a simple process that uses techniques and practices to promote relaxation in the body and mind so that one is proactive against illness as a result of stress. Meditation has also been deemed to develop benevolent qualities such as patience, compassion, generosity, and forgiveness.
This workshop is for those wanting to begin or deepen a meditation practice. We will focus on how regular practice can increase clarity of mind, improve attention as well as expand positive emotions. We’ll bring awareness to old habits and stagnant thought patterns and examine how meditation can be an effective technique to create new neural pathways leading to kinder, more compassionate choices.
We will examine how meditation is used for stress relief, as well as why it is a path to gaining a better understanding of your truest self. Several styles of meditation will be introduced. By exploring the basics of how to set up a meditation practice that fits your needs, you will be ready for a lifelong practice.
