MEDICINE WOMAN
Veronica Osorio is Cherry, a Medicine Woman. Once in a lifetime, a magical traveler swings by your town with hir suitcase full of wonders and changes the vibe forever. Is this stranger a healer who holds the secrets of the universe or is she a swindler tryna steal kisses from gorgeous strangers. Is she cleaning your aura or your wallet? And, if in the end she heals you, does the answer even matter?
Part characters, part circus, part healing ritual, part night out with your best friend who makes you feel seen. Cherry, the Medicine Woman, a loving and mysterious healer, determines the medicine required that night depending on the vibes of the audience. Every night there will be a tarot card pull, channeled entities, music and, with Cherry being a lover, there will be an element of falling mutually in love.
VERONICA CHERRY OSORIO
Veronica Osorio is a Venezuelan comedian, clown, actress, rapper and film director born in Jacksonville, FL and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. She’s currently directing her first full length film starring Veronica’s clown, Cherry. While in Venezuela Veronica was a professional theater, a musical theater and film actress, clown and accomplished Improviser. Veronica was also a volunteer children’s hospital clown through the hospital clown group Dr. Yaso.
Leaving a successful career behind, Veronica moved to New York to pursue living a safer life and a professional comedy career. She studied comedy at UCB Theater NY, where she became part of the theater’s sketch comedy cast. She was a finalist in the NBC/UCB Diversity showcase and was awarded the ABC exclusive deal after her diversity showcase in 2014. While in NYC she had a successful 9 month run of her one woman show First Woman on the Moon.
Osorio moved to LA after being cast as Carlotta Valdez in the Coen Bros’ Hail, Caesar! You can see her in The Laundromat (Dir. Soderbergh), Mosaic on HBO (Dir. Soderbergh), Strange Angel on CBS All Access (EP. Ridley Scott, Mark Hayman), Girboss (Netfix), Adam Ruins Everything (TruTV), The Carmichael Show (NBC) and her Instagram and Youtube Channels.
Veronica is currently a member of the UCBLA Characters team BETTY, and is lucky to count with John Gilkey as her teacher. She’s currently in post-production for her new web series The Selfchelorette season 2 (a bachelorette parody for finding self-love) and her new full-length film Cherryland.
