WVU Parkersburg’s Workforce & Economic Development Division (WED) is offering a Medical Office Specialist short-term program. Classes will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, May 17 - Sept. 20, 2021, from 6-9 p.m., at the WVU Parkersburg WED Building, Room B100C .This 100-hour program will prepare students to sit for the CCA exam to become a Certified Medical Coder, and will introduce them to:
Medical Terminology: The working knowledge of spelling, pronunciation and meaning of terms commonly used in the medical field.
Medical Billing: The working knowledge of medical billing procedures used in the medical field and in medical insurance operations.
Medical Coding: The working knowledge of medical coding procedure used in the medical field and in medical insurance operations.
