Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice: OPEN COURSE

A 3.5 hour face-to-face session providing credible, verifiable content aligned to the CPD outcomes of the General Dental Council.
About this Event

The Medical Emergencies in Dental Practice course is aimed at those Dental Professionals requiring their annual update and is ideal for Locum staff, or for individuals who were unable to attend their Practice annual training.

The content is directly aligned to the Medical Emergencies section of the BNF (Prescribing in dental practice | Medicines guidance | BNF | NICE), as well as the current resuscitation guidelines set by the Resuscitation Council UK.

Key elements of the session include:

utilising an A to E approach to assessing a deteriorating patient

Practical skills of Airway Management, including the use of an oral pharyngeal airway and Bag Valve Mask

Recognition and Management of key Medical Emergencies within the Dental Environment

Practical assessment of Basic Life Support and use of an AED (Adult and Paediatric)

All course are delivered by a Resuscitation Council UK accredited Advanced Life Support instructor and certificates will fully align to the CPD requirements of the GDC.
