Community Health Worker Connecticut Medicaid Reimbursement
Learning Sessions
Southwestern Area Health Education Center (Southwestern AHEC), is offering four Learning Sessions throughout Connecticut to share information about Medicaid Reimbursement for Community Health Workers. In 2023, Connecticut passed Public Act No. 23-186, mandating the Department of Social Services to design and implement a program providing Medicaid reimbursement for certified community health workers (CHWs) for services to HUSKY Health members, including coordination of healthcare and social supports, navigation of health systems, and health promotion.
Southwestern AHEC, along with the Connecticut Association for Community Action (CAFCA) and the Connecticut Health Center Association of Connecticut (CHC/ACT) received a grant from the Connecticut Health Foundation to implement advocacy to advance the implementation of Medicaid reimbursement.

· Educate Yourself and Others
· Engage with Decision-Makers
