ICRI is please to announce an in person workshop in Media Training catered to conservators, organized by DHR communications.
About this Event

Conservators will often be asked to engage with the media, both traditional and social, with regards to their work. This workshop aims to develop skills for attendees to communicate the practicalities and importance of their work to audiences who may not be familiar with the field.

The workshop is being organised by DHR communications and will touch on communications challenges; the media landscape; what journalists are looking for from an interview and interview preparation for print, radio, and video interviews. As well as focusing on messaging, language and verbal communication skills, this programme also covers body language; tips on dressing appropriately for interviews; projecting a confident image; and keeping your composure in high-pressure environments. Participants will have the chance to put their new skills into practice through mock interviews during a practical session.

This event is free for ICRI members but places are limited to 10. Please use the email address tied to your ICRI membership when booking a ticket. This is an in person workshop and will take place at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks.

ICRI is very grateful to the Heritage Council, which has provided funding to make our training programme for members possible.
