International Conference Media Lab Borderlines: Final Stage in Riga, LatviaNew East Culture Institute is pleased to announce the upcoming final stage of the Media Lab Borderlines program, which will take place in Riga, Latvia, from April 25th to 27th. This unique event marks the culmination of a series of hackathons held this spring in Daugavpils, Latvia, Narva, Estonia, Vilnius, Lithuania, and Warsaw, Poland.
About the Program
Media Lab Borderlines is an initiative aimed at developing critical thinking skills, investigative journalism, and combating disinformation among students and youth in the Baltic and Eastern European regions. The program's goal is to strengthen international cooperation and build resilient communities against Russian propaganda and disinformation in Europe's border regions.
What to Expect
The final conference promises to be engaging and dynamic. The program includes:
> Networking sessions for participants.
> Lectures by leading experts and trainers from different countries.
> A lecture by Sanita Jemberga (ReBaltica) on investigative journalism in wartime conditions.
> A game-training session by the New East team.
> A lecture by Nils Students on the work of disinformers in the Baltics using case studies.
> Simulation of communication in crisis situations.
> Workshops by local opinion leaders and influencers.
> Idea hackathon.

The event is organized by the New East Culture Institute with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Riga as part of the AEIF program. Sponsors and partners of the program include the European Humanities University, Latvijas Radio, Re:Beltica, Warsaw University, Latvian Embassy in Poland, VitaTiim, Delfi, ETV, and Zuzeum.
