CCBC Essex Academic Theatre presents Medea, Adapted from Euripides By B Kleymeyer and the CCBC Theatre ProgramDuring Jason's legendary quest for the Golden Fleece, he falls in love with a powerful woman, Medea. After leaving the Island of Colchis, Jason and Medea start a new life together in a foreign city. Years later, Jason works hard to provide for his wife and his two children. But Jason, missing the adventures of his youth, lets his ambition get the best of him. When a secret affair is revealed, the lives of Medea and her children are threatened by Jason's boss. In the throes of grief, Medea seeks revenge. The women in town warn Medea that her plan will ruin her life. But, Medea might decide to destroy everything to get back at Jason. In this new adaptation of the myth, the contemporary twists itself around Euripides' classic language.
