We are happy to announce that Ben Bradbury will once again be hosting a beginner painting class for us here at Mecha Games! Pre registration is HIGHLY recommended so we know that we will have enough attendance to accommodate our teacher Details below:This class will cover the basics of good painting, starting from the ground up.
We will talk about the key tools of the trade, assembly, priming, base coating, layering, and highlighting. Through this we will touch on brush skills, paint consistency, types of paints and their applications, the palette, various popular painting styles, basic colour theory, and basic weathering.
The class will be 4.5 hours with a short break. This includes an initial discussion of theory, painting demonstrations, and time for free painting where the instructor will come around, answer questions, and demonstrate techniques. By the end you will walk away with a brush, a boatload of knowledge, and a fully painted miniature of your own!
All required tools, and a miniature, will be available on the day and included in the cost of this class. That means you don’t need to bring anything! If you already have your own brushes, paints, a palette, or paint handles however, you’re more than welcome to use them.
A notepad and pen/ pencil is recommended as there will not be handouts.
Students will also receive a discount on paints for the day of the class.
