Born and raised in Balitmore, Maryland on the eastern seaboard, I have travelled the continent, visited nearly every state and visited Canada and Mexico. Currently I live in Granite Quarry, NC. I have sold art here locally since moving from West Virginia in 2013. I have been producing art for the last 50 years.
My work spans nearly every style and genre from Abstract to Oil, Watercolor, Pen & Ink, Charcoal and Acrylic. I enjoy painting ordinary objects that might otherwise be overlooked. I have been interested in Cubism and Abstract and have painted several pieces in those styles. Recently I have been working with pastels, both chalk and pencil.
Jerry Elmi -
I was born and raised in north central New Jersey. I moved to Charlotte in 2000 (too busy), then Pinehurst in 2013 (too quiet), and now in Salisbury almost three years.
In 1970 I had my one and only art lesson where I learned the technique known as reverse glass painting. I loved creating images with oil on glass. I began to use oil on canvas, but I was not comfortable working with that medium. By accident I picked up acrylics, and I was instantly at ease using them on canvas. All of my work has been with acrylics since then. "Paint what you want to see." That was my mentors only advice.
Landscapes soon became the focus of my paintings, and remain so to this day. Most of my paintings are a composite of different scenes. They are a mixture of reality, tranquility, and my imagination.
