Join Jo Starkey for a fun and inspiring day creating a beautiful meadow landscape! Learn the methods and techniques she uses as a professional artist, and translate them into painting your own masterpiece.
Together, you’ll bring a sunlit meadow with a hedgerow and distant trees to life, using acrylics on board. You’ll explore easy, expressive brushwork and a variety of creative tools, including paint rollers, silicone spatulas, stencil brushes, sea sponges, metallic liner, and shimmering gold highlights.
Through layering and texture, you’ll discover how to capture depth and atmosphere while enjoying a relaxed, supportive environment. Whether you’re a beginner with a love for colour or an experienced artist looking to broaden your skills, you’ll leave with a finished painting full of light, colour, and movement.
A short introduction will take place at 10:00, with live demos, gentle guidance and help are provided throughout the day. There’s a short half-hour break for lunch. There are many stages to this painting workshop, using the techniques and materials Jo uses in her work, and the aim is to create a landscape meadow incorporating these methods.
A break for lunch will be taken with afternoon tea which includes scones with cream & jam, a sandwich, a slice of cake and your choice of either tea or coffee. Please email [email protected] if you have any allergies or dietary requirements.
