About this Event
Guitarist and Songwriter, Eddie Martinez took his professional music career by the horns when the 1980's came along, first appearing on the map for such artists as Robert Palmer, Steve Winwood, and David Lee Roth... all within the span of LESS THAN A YEAR. From there, Martinez became a go-to performer, working with such marquee names as Mick Jagger, and Meat Loaf. Eddie is an innovator to the very core of the word being the very first artist to bring electric guitar in to Hip Hop with the 1984 critically-acclaimed single, "Rock Box" by genre pioneers, Run DMC. Many can say they were great players, but only ONE can say they were the FIRST. "Rock Box", is not only the first of the genre to feature electric guitar, but is also commonly cited as the first rap video played on MTV. Eddie also has the distinction of performing at the legendary and global "Live-Aid" festival alongside industry royalty Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, and Hall & Oates as well as Blondie's "Tracks Across America Tour".
