No, this isn’t a Sam Jackson quote from the latest grindhouse inspiredTarantino film; it’s the impetus behind the Joplin, MO band Me Like Bees.
Formed on the heels of the 2000s indie rock scene, Missouri-based indie rock band, Me Like Bees, was created by college dropout, Pete Burton andformer gas station clerk, Luke Sheafer in 2009. The pair met while playing
high school football together in Kansas; only to lose touch andserendipitously end up at the same college town in southwest Missouri several years later. The duo shared a mutual affinity for the music of theaughts. Bands like The Strokes, Modest Mouse, The White Stripes, andFranz Ferdinand, would serve as the catalyst to the danceable, guitar- driven
rock that Me Like Bees would become known for, all of which are ever-present on their newly released sophomore full-length album — Disco TwoStep.
Notably, the band released their first full-length album, The Ides, viaLoveway Records in 2013. In 2014, they won first prize at the Ernie BallBattle of the Bands in Hollywood, CA — beating out 20,000 other artists,and securing a coveted spot on the Vans Warped Tour. With their undeniabletrajectory of growth, the group knew the next step was to make more music.
They got the chance to work alongside Goldfinger frontman and well-
known producer, John Feldmann for the There Will Be Time EP (2016), andthey didn’t stop there. In 2018, they partnered with Image Comics and artistJeremy Haun for the release of their graphic novel-inspired EP, Songs From
The Realm.
With a plethora of years in the game and knowing their way around thestudio - Me Like Bees is making sure they’ve got your attention.

Everything Had Teeth is the new rock project from Des Moines music veterans, Jordan Mayland (Guitar/Vocals), Phil Young (Bass), Dylan Lamb (Guitar), & Steven Rood (Drums).
The musicians have been involved in many
groups such as Volcano Boys, TiRES, Nuclear Rodeo, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Holy White Hounds, and more.
The group recently put out their first EP of 6 songs, and this show will be the tape release for that EP.
