
This Month's Topic: "Not so creepy and oh so important: Seeing bugs for what they really are!" presented by Dr. Chad Harvey.
Do you think bugs spiders and creepy crawlies are just... gross? In reality insects and spiders can be cute beautiful and inspire creativity. They are not only important to nature and biodiversity but the actual diversity and functionality of insects and other arthropods has inspired our creativity and imagination for thousands of years. Insects and their arthropod cousins clean-up pollinate control pests and indeed provide wonderful examples representing the beauty in nature. Come see creepy crawlies with new perspective and maybe even learn to see bugs as beautiful!

The MCYU Family Lecture Series is a free monthly event on McMaster's main campus. These lectures are geared toward young individuals ages 7–14 and cover all science technology engineering arts and math (STEAM) topics. The lectures are presented by post-secondary professors who are experts in their field. This is an opportunity for all young individuals to experience what it feels like to be a university student.
