About this Event
Want your child to succeed in school—and in life? Let them play.
Join us for a thought-provoking presentation by Dr. Peter Gray, renowned developmental psychologist and author of The Power of Play: The Neuroscience Connection Between Play, Happiness, and Student Learning. Drawing on decades of research in psychology, education, and evolutionary biology, Dr. Gray makes a powerful case: play isn’t a break from learning—it is learning. Come away with a renewed understanding of your child’s most natural and powerful learning tool—and how to protect it in a world that undervalues it.
Dr. Peter Gray is a research professor of psychology at Boston College, where he taught for more than 30 years. He is known for his work in evolutionary psychology, education, and the role of play in child development. His recent work explores how children learn naturally through play and self-directed exploration—ideas he explores in his influential book Free to Learn (Basic Books, 2013). Dr. Gray authors a regular Substack series entitled Play Makes Us Human and is a founding member of the Alliance for Self-Directed Education and the nonprofit Let Grow.
This event is free and open to the public.
