McKinley Morrison & Williams are back in Saint John, with Moncton friends, Umläb! Join us for an intimate evening of exciting and inspiring music as we vibrate the old walls of the former Carnegie Library!McKinley Morrison & Williams
East Coast musicians Josh McKinley, John Morrison and Darrell Williams have made their mark on the Eastern Canadian music scene while performing at festivals, touring theatres and clubs and by creating their own brand of an exciting intimate show experience.
In 2019, they were awarded Stingray Music Rising Star at the Harvest Jazz & Blues Festival and Band of the Year at the Saint John Music Awards. In 2023, MMW released their first studio album titled, “Sunday Morning Coffee”, garnished with the extra color of international musicians who have performed with Sting, The Rolling Stones, Alicia Keys, Steve Vai and many others.
They have had the blessing of sharing stages with Victor Wooten & the Wooten Brothers, The Arkells, Andy Frasco & the UN, among many other amazing musicians. This exciting trio delivers melodic musical fusion, bass solos, guitar wizardry, and a drum clinic performance.
Umläb
Umläb is a group formed in early 2020 from members of Moncton NB’s Les Païens and, most recently, long-time collaborator Andrew Creeggan, founding member of the Barenaked Ladies. This jazz.electro.rock project is a broad creative space that has roots in prog-funk, trip hop, 20th century classical composers, house, post rock, math rock and clam rock.
Their 5 song EP “Disque Space” recorded during the pandemic and released in December 2021 is currently streaming on all platforms.
“UmLäb take a decidedly sparse approach, embracing the microcosm they inhabit with masterful confidence and a strong desire to explore the far reaches of their individual and collective abilities… The fact that it [the EP] works so well as both a deep-listening experience and a casual background soundtrack make it an easy, rewarding listen no matter what galaxy you’re occupying at the time. ”
