Join the Miami Beach Police Department (MBPD) and the Gift of Life Marrow Registry for a special event emphasizing the need for new bone marrow and stem cell transplant donors to be added to the registry. A recently retired MBPD Officer's wife was diagnosed with leukemia. She needs a genetically matched donor for the transplant that could save her life. A simple swab from the inside of your cheek is all it takes to determine if you are a match.
Every volunteer donor has the potential to save the life of a patient battling against blood cancer, sickle cell, and more than 70 other life-threatening diseases.
During the event, a heroic Gift of Life stem cell donor will be introduced to the teen, a blood cancer survivor, whose life he saved.
