About this Event
Knowledge is power, sis. đź’ˇ
Mbaa Kasa – Women Talk is a community event designed for young women to learn more about their health, their rights, and their culture. Together, we’ll raise awareness about Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and other harmful practices, understand the UK law (FGM Act 2003), and explore how culture can be celebrated in positive, empowering ways.
We’ll also highlight Ghanaian puberty rites like Dipo and Bragoro— traditions that honour young women’s journey into adulthood— and discuss how heritage can be celebrated without causing harm.
Expect engaging talks, an insightful panel, and practical knowledge you can take away with you. To finish, enjoy networking, refreshments, and food to go.
This is about awareness, empowerment, and celebrating culture safely.
