Hutto, everyone is invited to this event.I've communicated to many of you through email, text and Facebook over the years. But, we haven't met yet. This is a great chance to hang out a bit and ask me questions in person.
I've spoken to many people about this decision. It didn't come lightly. A person needs to self reflect and make sure that there is some more to give. It seems like people still want someone who isn't afraid of saying NO to things that do not benefit the taxpayer. Saying NO to growth for growth sakes. Saying NO to tax increases. And, someone who will say YES to transparency and is willing to have the conversations in public and not in the backroom.
It seems like it's always a fight to represent the voter. I'm not sure why government and many of it's elected leaders forget who put them in their chairs. As Mayor, I'll continue to represent ALL of Hutto. Not just a small group of people who have been my friend or have some special interest.
I'll continue to try to make decisions that benefit the majority of people. That means that not every decision you will like. One can't make ALL 45,000 people happy with each vote. But, I hope to continue to explain the "whys" and continue to push for infrastructure growth and budgeting at City Hall that doesn't affect your pocketbook.
