About this Event

The Mayor of Ottawa, alongside the Vice-President of Sustainability with the Building Owners and Managers Association of Canada, Bala Gnanam, will present awards to the top buildings and building operators for their efforts to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions. Their innovation and leadership will be recognized at a breakfast event on May 8th at City Hall. The award winners have all been participating in the City's Better Buildings Benchmarking Program, which means they are disclose their energy use publicly. As part of its Climate Change Master Plan and Energy Evolution Strategy, the City is asking all buildings over 10,000 sq. ft. to disclose their energy consumption data and, in exchange, is helping them find energy-saving opportunities and learn from leaders.
