Join with ACT UP Philly in gathering outside Mayor Kenney’s residence at 3rd and Race on Tuesday 6/29 to demand immediate action to END ALL EVICTIONS and radically improve housing and homeless services in this city.Mayor Kenney has blood on his hands, and Philadelphia’s Office of Homeless Services (OHS), under the leadership of Liz Hersh, is failing at their job to serve people who are unhoused.
Housing justice is an LGBTQIA2S+ rights issue, and our city is failing people who are unhoused and unstably housed, including shelter residents. This month we are highlighting how Philadelphia is especially failing to serve unhoused people who are LGBTQIA2S+, who are living with HIV/AIDS, and especially Black trans and queer people who are unhoused. And what we are demanding as improvements.
??? We need as many voices as possible to make our demands a reality. JOIN US to speak out and make our demands known. Honor queer history this Pride month by being a part of it, and fight for a better city.
And then - because queer people deserve joy and art and music - stay to celebrate our community. The second half of this event is a dance party, to celebrate each other and all of our work.
