🌊 Mayo Mayhem 2025 – Powered by RWE 🌬️We’re thrilled to announce that Mayo Mayhem is back for its 8th edition! Bursting with energy and excitement, this year’s event is once again a 3-star ranked WWT/PWA World Wave Tour competition — one of the biggest windsurfing events in Ireland.
📅 When:
September 26–28, 2025 (Friday–Sunday) The event coincides with the Battle for the Lake Watersports & Music Festival – a weekend of action on and off the water! battleforthelake.com If conditions aren't contestable, we'll roll over to the backup weekend: October 3–5. (Friday–Sunday).If neither weekend work we will consider a date later in the year .
📍 Where:
Final location (either Achill Island or Belmullet area) will be announced the Wednesday before the event, based on forecasts. We aim to minimize travel and maximize conditions — from side-on ramps to clean down-the-line perfection. Expect the possibility of both Port and Starboard tack action!
🧭 Who:
We’re running three fleets:
• Gold
• Silver
• Women’s
We aim for two days of competition plus one day for expression sessions, instruction, or just fun.
• Top 22 seeded riders go straight to the main event.
• Bottom 8 seeds enter a challengers’ round to claim 2 remaining spots.
• If conditions allow 2–3 days of heats, we may open more challenger places – so get on the list!
Women may be seeded into Gold or Silver fleets, or if numbers allow, a dedicated Women’s fleet will be run (TBC closer to the event).

If you can water start, gybe (sometimes!), and get the odd jump in — you’re ready!
Experienced riders will be available for tips, support, and mentoring all weekend.

Spectators, recreational sailors, and those not ready to compete are very welcome. Enjoy the vibe, sail in epic conditions, and get inspired. There's plenty of room for free sailing alongside the action.
