Mayhaw Music Festival

Join us in Cottonwood, Alabama, for the second annual Mayhaw Music Festival on October 4th!

• Participants in the Mayhaw Music 5k get in FREE! Must show race bib for entry.

Get ready to experience a day filled with bluegrass and Americana music. The festival's lineup features talented local, regional, and national artists, including Junior Sisk Band, Stillhouse Junkies, Michael Prewitt, Bibelhauser Brothres, Brenna Macmillan, First Far West, Spring Creek 45, and Pontiac Stove Company. In addition to the great music, we will also offer a variety of food vendors serving up tasty dishes and refreshing beverages. From classic festival fare to local specialties, there’s something for everyone.

Bring your kayaks, swim shorts, fishing poles, etc. You are welcome to fish/paddle in the pond or creek OR take a dip in the swimming hole. Be advised there are snakes and gators and other critters.

*Please note that the event is on the west side of Rambo Mill Road. You can't miss the big Honey Bee Farms entrance.

VIP TICKET DETAILS: VIP Food provided by local chef Paul Fripp who served up unbelievable flavors last year. The VIP designated area is located in the screened-in Pond Porch building and deck/dock extending out over the water. It's a perfect location for listening to music and relaxing with complimentary drinks of your choice. VIP tickets include food and drinks (beer from Southern Fields Brewing, soda, water, etc.). There will be palatial portable toilets for VIP ticket holders.

Info: Kentucky duo Josh Rinkel and Laura Orshaw bring their bluegrass picking and singing. Josh was a founding member of the Po' Ramblin' Boys. Laura fiddles and sings great country and bluegrass tunes.

Info: Spring Creek 45 is an Alabama-based bluegrass band that plays original tunes and some traditional covers. Spring Creek 45 released their self-titled album on Common Loon Records label in November 2023. Most notably, Michael Prewitt plays mandolin and sings lead and harmony on several songs. Wes Knapp, Mike Bailey, Kelsey Cunningham, Steven Salter, and Justin Stickler make up the band.

Info: The Kentucky native and Nashville based singer-songwriter is actively defining the next generation of female banjo pickers and songwriters. Brenna released her first full length original album in 2024, and she'll be bringing a band to back up her poignant songs about life and love.

Info: IBMA-nominated bluegrass musician, Michael Prewitt and his band play top-notch bluegrass original tunes. Prewitt released two albums in 2024. Several of the songs from his album Something He Can Handle have received national satellite radio airplay. Come out and hear this bluegrass legend in the making!

Info: Louisville, Kentucky based bluegrass band. Aaron and Adam Bibelhauser have a brothers harmony that is immediately identifiable on the first note. Their new album Down The Road will be available Oct. 1.

Info: A crowd-thrilling trio from the Colorado mountain of Durango, Stillhouse Junkies share the kind of strangely charmed chemistry that elevates both artist and audience alike. Since forming in 2017, the Durango-bred band have offered up a hypnotic and high-energy form of roots music anchored in the free-flowing interplay among the three lifelong musicians (Fred Kosak on guitar and mandolin, Cody Tinnin on upright bass, Alissa Wolf on fiddle). While they’ve gained major traction in the bluegrass world in recent years — including winning the IBMA Momentum Band of the Year award in 2021 — Stillhouse Junkies ultimately inhabit a genre-blurring and subtly inventive sound informed by everything from blues to classical to Texas swing. When matched with their nuanced songcraft and soul-stirring harmonies, the result is a one-of-a-kind musical experience that immediately transports the listener into a more enchanted state of mind. Info: Junior Sisk is a legend. He has been making great traditional bluegrass music for more than 30 years, including numerous albums, awards, and collaborations. You won't want to miss this top-notch band.
