From the organizers of Race for Conservation and the Chiquibul Challenge Marathon: the Maya Mountain & Conservation Ultra Challenge is Belize's first Ultra Marathon for Conservation. ~250 km in 4 days.
Objectives: Highlight the beauty and importance of the Maya Mountains and Mountain Pine Ridge; encourage fitness and fundraise for conservation.
The race will include sites like: 1000 ft falls, Big Rock Falls, Rio On Pools, Bald Hills, Rio Frio Cave and many more. There will be added challenges (eg. count the most waterfalls, collect book pages and picture yourself in nature) and hikers will be encouraged as well.
More details will be released with time - note that we use the "Barkley Marathons" as an inspiration to create one of the hardest races for ultra runners, yet we also wanted to keep it safe and inclusive. Therefore we will also include hiking and a team option, so that YOU can participate even if you can't run 100+ Miles :)
