Join a few community favorites: Dr. Joi Lewis, Tomme Beaves and DJ Miss Britt, as we gather for a Healing Happy Hour + Cooking Demo + The Jams. Listen, there will be Collard Green Wraps, Peas & Rice and some surprises, for the first 30 folks to sample. Dr. Joi Lewis is the author of Healing: The Act of Radical Self-Care. She is a community healer, joy instigator, scholar and founder of two organizations: Joi Unlimited and the Healing Justice Foundation. As a highly sought out speaker, facilitator and space holder, she is on a mission to put healing in the hands of everyone, everywhere. Her work is deeply informed by growing up in East St. Louis, Illinois, and is grounded in healing justice and Black liberation. She claims her adult home in the Frogtown neighborhood of St. Paul, Minnesota. She has a daily practice of showing up fully in her body and lives in connection with all who believe in freedom. DJ Miss Brit Brittany L. Wright is a DJ, doula, and Program Manager in the Governor's Children's Cabinet where she leads statewide coordination in infant/parental health, children’s mental health, youth justice, and more.She can be seen spinning for almost every major platform around the cities including, the MN Lynx, Timberwolves, Aurora, United, Saints, and Twins. She’s DJ'ed for all of the major sports teams in the state. As a doula and family wellness advocate, DJ Miss Britt, plans on expanding her business to focus on workforce development solutions to address racial health equity, and open up her own family wellness center focused on addressing racial health disparities.
