So what’s the hike all about?
Spring flowers could teach us a thing or two about seizing the day. Called “ephemerals,” these lovely, hardy souls have to get it all done—beef up, get gorgeous, flirt, get lucky, grow those babies, and send them off—in only a few weeks before they retreat back to their underground headquarters. Let’s go find them in their natural habitat—and get some hiking in while we’re at it!

Meet your guide
Sherry is an avid outdoor adventurer and keen student of nature who is passionate about helping others get outside to experience the wonders and healing powers of nature. A certified Interpretive Guide with Wilderness Advanced First Aid, she has guided people both formally and informally on hiking, backpacking and canoe trips both local and far-flung. When not at work writing her clients’ stories as a freelance communicator, Sherry can be found along a trail, trying to get a closer look at a snail.
