In May our meeting will feature a talk on The WW1 Barnbow Munitions Factory by Jackie & Bob Lawrence from the East Leeds History and Archaeology Society. Women at War? The Barnbow Story.
The story of the building and operation of the No1 Shell Filling Factory at Barnbow during World War One. The presentation also looks at the major explosion which occurred in 1916. It also looks at the stories behind some of the victims and other people involved in the explosion.
All welcome as usual, and refreshments provided.
