? Q: Where is The Encore?
A: 720 Powell Ave, Morgantown, WV 26505. If the parking lot down the hill is full, there's space in the lot next door. There will be a sign.
? Q: What is square dancing, anyway?
A: Square dancing is a community-driven folk dance where a caller guides dancers through figures and steps, often in squares (circles of 8 people, split into four couples). It’s deeply rooted in Appalachian and old-time traditions!
? Q: I’ve never square danced before, but I'm interested in coming—is that ok?
A: Absolutely! Every dance is taught on the spot, and no experience is necessary.
? Q: Do I need to bring a partner to dance with?
A: Nope! Square dancing is a social dance, and we’ll be switching partners throughout the night. Anyone can ask anyone to dance, and anyone can say yes or no.
? Q: What should I wear?
A: Comfortable clothes you can move in! Sneakers or flat-soled shoes are great. Avoid heels, flip-flops, or anything too grippy.
