After our luncheon catered by Childers from 11:30-1:00pm, we have an amazing guest speaker!Dr. Jane Talkington, the only living botulism historian, is bringing her expertise to Peoria with the launch of the Historical Botulism Museum on Moss Avenue, opening Saturday, June 7. As a faculty member at Bradley University’s Turner School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, she is dedicated to making medical history accessible and engaging.
Her historic home-turned-museum features 13 curated art exhibits that illustrate the medical community’s first discoveries on diagnosing botulism, as detailed in her book, Recognizing Botulism. Visitors will be transported to the early 20th century through period costumes, vintage music, and chilling medical narratives, making for an immersive and educational experience unlike any other.
