Join the Minnesota Chapter in hiking 2.7 miles at Minneopa State Park in Mankato, MN.Who: 52 Hike Challengers & their friends/family
What: May Group Hike
When: Sunday, May 19th at 1:00pm.
Where: Minneopa State Park. "Minnesota Hiking Club Trail"
Trail details and ability level: Easy/beginner level. Approximately 2.7 miles with 59 feet of elevation gain. Takes an average of 60 minutes to complete, depending on pace. Being able to hike at approximately 2+ miles per hour would be good for joining this hike.
What to bring: Weather appropriate clothing (layers are best), a daypack/fanny pack with water, personal needs, snacks, and a positive attitude!
Pets : Dogs are welcome but must be on leash.
Parking & Details: The trail is located at a State Park, so bring your pass if you have one or pay the $7 daily fee. https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/state_parks/permit.html There are 2 parts of the park and we will be hiking in the area near the bison drive (park near the campgrounds). The trail is located at the part of the park off 68 - so don't park by the waterfall. We will plan to head there after hiking the trail :)
