The May Erie Torch Club Meeting will be on Wednesday May 1at the Erie Yacht Club. Cash bar at 6 PM and dinner at 6:30 PM.

$30 per meal cash or check made out to the Erie Yacht Club payable at the door. Deadline for reservations and choice of entree is 5 PM Friday, April 27. A reminder that no shows for dinner will be billed for the cost of the meal.

Our dinner will be a choice of either Beef Roulades with Bordelaise Sauce or Salmon with Rosemary Orange Sauce, with Fresh Vegetables Medley, Strawberry Spinach Salad (with toasted almonds, feta cheese, & red onion), Lemon Meringue Pie, Coffee, Tea, Rolls and Butter.

Our Guest Speaker is Richard Arthur. Richard Jay Arthur, M.A., is a native of Pittsburgh. A 23-year veteran Army officer, he has a lifelong interest in history with particular focus on the American Colonial period. He has given talks on the Founding Fathers and the Continental Army and lectured on the role of Pennsylvanians on the planning and actions of D-Day, including stories based on interviews with participants. A website features stories from his Butler County youth at www.butlercountyboyhood.com. He earned his bachelors degree from Allegheny College, and his masters from George Washington University. He and his wife, Mary Lou, live in rural Erie County, where they operate Winters End, an environment that supports bees and butterflies.
