A conversation on body image awareness and strategies to support birthers who show signs of struggling with their body image. This topic will be presented by Melanie Sulaver of Nutrition by Mel.
Mama Mel (Mel Sulaver) is a registered dietitian working to bridge the gap between women’s health and performance nutrition. She is the founder and operator of Nutrition By Mel where she works as a speaker, counselor, and coach. Mel has a passion for educating women and athletes on disordered eating, low energy availability (LEA), relative energy deficiency in sport (REDS), fertility, and the menopausal transition.
A new Mom herself, Mel has a soft spot for supporting women through their fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum journey. At a time when everyone is looking to hold the baby, Mel is here to support the mother - to replenish her performance and vitality, relinquish her guilt, and nourish her body and spirit.
With more women embracing motherhood later in life, Mel has noticed a closing gap between the postpartum and perimenopausal transitions. These two unique and powerful hormonal shifts are each individually monumental; for women experiencing the dual transitions of the postpartum period and the onset of perimenopause, these changes can feel especially life-altering and confusing.
Mel believes it is crucial we stay informed about the physiological changes happening in our body. She has made it her mission to support women in advocating for the care they need, coming home to their body, and listening to the signals being communicated. Mel provides comprehensive, personalized care to guide you through these significant stages so you can feel like your most powerful self and confidently enjoy the best years of your life.
