The 70th annual May basket competition, sponsored by the Garden Club of Old Annapolis Towne, will be held Thursday, May 1 in celebration of May Day in downtown Annapolis. Be sure to stroll all of downtown including Main Street, Market Space, Maryland Ave, and West Street. Plus venture in onto the many side streets to find even more baskets.Residents and merchants in the Historic District of downtown Annapolis, and parts of Murray Hill, are encouraged to arrange baskets of fresh-cut flowers to display outside their homes and businesses. The public is encouraged to walk throughout the town and photograph the many baskets on display. It is also a great time to get in some shopping and also enjoy lunch and dinner at your favorite downtown Annapolis businesses.
