About this Event

Y SC and 'Outside The Box Learning CIC' team up for the school holidays to provide exciting opportunities for young people to enjoy being together in a safe space, with plenty of the usual youth club 'Mess' provision alongside specific tutored creative activities/ projects. Participants can choose their activities and make it their own day! Our leaders are experienced teachers and well versed at integrating all ages, providing appropriate learning opportunities.

We are qualified and experienced teachers. There is always a paediatric first aider on site and a designated safeguarding lead.

Booking is essential (we like 24hours notice) but there may be spaces on the day, so please do phone forward to enquire. 07967181618 or email [email protected]

Discounts are available for siblings (based on 2 children) and for YSC members, on whole days. Please check carefully for your ticket type.

We cannot accept cancellations as we plan resources, staffing and activities around numbers.

If you are not already a YSC member, you will be asked to fill in a temporary members' form so we have your child/children's details including learning/ medical/ dietary needs and we also ask for your contact details and permissions for photographs etc. These forms are shredded at the end of each day and we will not use your information for any other reason.

If you would like to become a member then we can send you a simple form to complete and you will have access to our membership site. We will not ask you again for permissions and other information.

Wednesday 14th February 9-4pm

Thursday 15th February 9-4pm

For the February Art School, we will be looking at drawings, illustrations and photographs of British birds we might see in our gardens, fields and hedges and environamt of the South Hams.

We will have a visiting speaker to tell us more about these birds and how we can spot them amd look after them.
We shall use the works of art to create our own well observed and detailed drawing, using graphite and watercolour pencils. We shall also be creating our own 'fanatastic bird' sculpture using recycled book pages, pre prepared papers, modroc and wire.
Below are examples of artworks which inspire this workshop.
The price of each day includes all the materials and tuition. If you do both days, you will be able to repeat the process and produce two different drawings and sculptures.

We will be having fun!

Bring your own packed lunch. Refreshments provided. You may wish to wear old clothes as we intend to get busy and messy.
