Meditate with a Shelter Pet!
Craving some cuddly company while doing good for the community? Here's a FUNdraiser you won't want to miss!
Join us for a 1:1 meditation session with a shelter pet. Led by Animal Meditation Teacher and Animal Reiki Practitioner, Teresa, these classes will leave you with a YOUnique meditation experience while supporting the amazing work of the SPCA. **Welland Location**

*Sessions are on Saturday mornings at 10:15 am for about 45-60 mins. (1:1 or 2 participants max.) If that seems long, don't worry - we won't be meditating the whole time because it takes time to develop a rapport with the shelter pet.
*Each session is by donation - We request a minimum $20 per person donation to the SPCA. Your contribution will help countless animals find their FURever homes.

Pre-registrations only - please sign up on the website

The Power of Meditation:
*Reduced Stress & Anxiety: Feel your worries melt away and unleash your inner peace.
*Increased Focus & Clarity: Sharpen your mind and enhance your present moment awareness.
*Improved Well-being: Boost your mood and promote overall happiness.
*Mindfulness: Noticing and naming thoughts and returning to the breath, practicing shifiting your awareness in a shelter envrionment
*Optimism and Perspective: Seeing the shelter pets for the PAWfection that they are (vs. stories we tell)
*Open-mindedness: Let the animals be your greatest teacher. Be open to the lessons they will teach us.

Meditation isn't just for humans - Shelter Pets benefit too!
*Building Trust: Your calm presence can help shelter pets build trust with humans
*Peaceful Pause: Meditation time offers a much-needed break from the kennels
*Learning Through Love: The sessions provide a chance for shelter pets to connect and let their true personalities shine (which can help them get adopted!)
*Agency: Backed by research, giving animals agency to participate empowers them in the shelter - where they have few choices

FAQs/Info
*Shelter Sounds? No sweat! Shelters can be a bit lively. Feel free to bring earplugs or calming music to create your own quiet space.
*Cozy Clothes Key! Dress comfortably - and don't mind a little pet hair, it comes with the territory! Layers are helpful as the shelter can be cool, and please no baseball hats.
*Treats for You, Not Them! While we love spoiling our furry friends, treats can be distracting during meditation. Let's focus on the purrs (and maybe a few barks) and quiet time.

Sessions are 45-60 minutes, depending on our FURends. The animals may want to connect or play a bit before settling in, and that's perfectly okay! Sessions and meditations will vary (Some pets will prefer a meditative tummy rub and others may gently rest for a period of time). We will let the shelter pets guide the experience. Animal agency and autonomy is central to this practice. This is all about letting go of expectations and enjoying some quiet time with a cute companion.

Ready to meditate with an adorable friend? RSVP today!

Space is limited to one session a week, so don't delay.
Together, we can create a calmer, happier world - for us and for the amazing animals of the SPCA.
