About this Event
Training for New managers and supervisors
Presented In-person by LCW
At the Elk Grove Community Center, Elk Grove, CA.
We are Extemely Limited on available spots. Additional space may be available in the future, but for now, we are only allowed 6 attendees. Please add your name to the waitlist and it will be first come first serve as space is added.
We would like to initially register new, first-time supervisors or supervisors who really need to work on their skills. If we have any available openings after that, we will offer them to other supervisors at that time.
The workshop will feature practical strategies to address common supervisory challenges -- motivating employees, addressing interpersonal issues among coworkers, and ethical decision-making. Participants will sharpen critical tools to successfully supervise and manage performance in the contemporary public agency workforce-- leadership, communication, delegation and problem-solving. Participants will also refresh their knowledge and issue-spotting skills regarding key legal principles that all supervisors should understand, such as harassment prevention, wage and hour, and labor relations. Attendees will also receive a pragmatic, comprehensive workbook to serve as a valuable resource after the training.
