ABOUT MAX: Max Bidasha is a Two-Spirit, Native, Mexican, Punjabi, playwright, director, and poet. His plays focus on social justice issues and cultural nuances. He began writing after he was diagnosed with stage IV epithelioid sarcoma and was told he had one year to live. His plays include STAGES, Missing Red Girls, Gramacita, The Kids Are NOT Alright, and Mission: Totem Pole. The Pros and Cons of Dying is his first collection of poetry. His forthcoming novella, Gramacita, will be released in early 2025, along with his second book of poetry, Future Stardust. He lives in Napa.
ABOUT THE BOOK: The Pros and Cons of Dying explores fears, beauty, intricacies, reflections, and absurdities of the inevitable. Bidasha weaves humor, whimsy, thoughtfulness, and love through what most would consider tragedy, loss, and sadness, constantly allowing the reader new opportunities to view death and dying through a refreshing, new lens. Part laugh out loud hilarious, part heartbreaking, The Pros and Cons of Dying will leave your heart and mind wide open, whether you are faced with your own life changing illness, have lost a loved one, wondered where we go from here, or just wanted to have a closer relationship with the inevitable.
