Max Alduca:"Sydney based double bassist Max Alduca is launching the second single Scando from his upcoming debut album Monastery.
Monastery features seven of Max's original compositions. From introspective ballads to expansive free-flowing improvisations, the album is an exploration of sanctuary through sound and space.
The second single Scando is inspired by the white landscape of winter in Stockholm, Sweden, where this composition was written. The stark but beautiful landscape is reflected sonically by the free flowing melody’s that gradually interweave and build to a climax.
Max is joined by close collaborators and friends Hilary Geddes (guitar), Michael Avgenicos (tenor sax), Luke Sweeting (piano) and James Waples (drums).
Wilbur Whitta:
Gadigal (Sydney) based pianist and composer Wilbur Whitta presents a new set of improvised music for piano and organ. Inspired by the likes of Craig Taborn, Cory Smythe and Kit Downes, the debut performance of this project will see Wilbur free-soloing between both instruments, navigating in the moment to find new paths up the mountain.
