From sweet blues to gritty stomping blues beats, and now having eight nominations in the prestigious Independent Blues Awards in the USA and three back-to-back Number One Australian Blues albums, this is an artist you do not want to miss. Following the worldwide acclaim that was brought upon Transpacific Blues Vol. 1, the collaborative album that saw Wall duetting with USA blues guitar legends such as Walter Trout, Eric Gales, Kirk Fletcher, Kid Ramos and fellow West Australian, Dave Hole. The album was released internationally via the famous Memphis label Select-O-Hits.
Transpacific Blues Vol. 1 was met with rave reviews around the world, hitting the Living Blues chart in the US and making the grade in none other than Joe Bonamassa’s ‘Cutting Edge Blues - Best Of 2019’ Spotify playlist. The great man of modern blues guitar handpicked Wall’s run through Hi Heel Sneakers with Eric Gales. For Wall, it’s a great shot in the arm for the new decade. Matty T Wall returns to the stage for the new era, more motivated and addictively electric than ever with two rhythm legends of the scene, Ric Whittle and Leigh Miller and the new Live album - LIVE DOWN UNDERGROUND. After several years of COVID disruptions and some time spent grounded due to a serious spinal injury, WAM Award-winning blues musician Matty T Wall is back in full flight.
He persisted through trying times, however, and the good news is that Wall and his band will be performing at the Kammgarn International Blues Festival in Germany happening in October 2024, alongside Walter Trout and emerging UK blues great Danny Bryant. This appearance will be bookended by a Germany/Austria/Switzerland Tour with Danny Bryant and the full Matty T Wall band.
This show at the Duke Of George will be the last show in Perth before the whole band heads overseas on this tour – so come along and show your support, give them the send off they need!
