Matthew-Smiles was created by Lou and Juliane Cabral to honor their son Matthew; a healthy kid who showed no signs of mental health issues but committed suicide. The Cabral’s purpose in creating the Foundation is to help other kids and their families understand and bring awareness to mental health, whether they show signs of mental illness or not.  Matthew-Smiles will help fund programs and other mental health resources, and help create a stable, non-threatening environment that kids can be open to talking with each other and their families.  If we can help prevent one family from experiencing the heartbreak of losing a child in this way, then Matthew’s legacy will be one of hope and healing.  Thank you for sharing our mission with us.

COVID-19: Health and safety is a top priority at the University of Richmond. We would like to take this opportunity to remind attendees that per the physical distancing framework the University is currently at the Robins Center. Capacity for this event is 100ppl, registration is required, and we will be unable to accommodate walkups. Attendees to programs are required to wear masks in all campus buildings, regardless of vaccination status. The requirement to wear a mask does not apply while eating or drinking.

Tickets to this event are non-refundable unless the game is canceled.
