Join us for an evening of enchanting piano music performed by Matthew Garvie. 🌊⛈🎹The dynamic piano program revolves around the idea of a storm. The persistent dripping of water permeates Chopin's 'Raindrop' Prelude. The starkly contrasting moods of Ballade No.2 and the split personalities in Schumann's 'Symphonic Etudes' reflect the clashing hot and cold air in a lightning storm. Debussy's Pagodas is the calm in the eye of the storm, capturing the serene sounds of the Javanese Gamelan.
The central piece of the program, Justin Williams' 'A Storm', reflects both the swirling winds of a literal storm and the inner turmoil within ourselves. 'A Storm' was written in 2024 as part of the ANAM set festival and has only been performed live a handful of times!
Don't miss out on an opportunity to experience an hour of piano mastery at its finest.
