I'm very much looking forward to this gig. I'm spending 3 weeks in the mountains in Banff, Canada learning and writing with some of my idols. There'll be a lot of new music plus some tunes from the record I released last year. Matt Smith presents music from his debut album ‘Driftwood’ as well as brand new music written for the septet while studying in Banff, Canada.
Matt’s debut record was inspired by the natural beauty of the southwest of WA, and launched at the 2023 Perth International Jazz Festival. Expect to hear flowing, richly textured ensemble playing by Perth finest.
