** TICKET WAIVER AVAILABLE for anyone who has been affected by the LA fires. Just reach out in an email to [email protected] and I'll give you the promo code <3 ***
On the occasion of his solo show CAVE TECH at Modest Common (Feb. 8 - March 21), Matt Reynolds will lead a hands-on workshop designed for artists interested in adding animation to their practice. Animation can be used to breathe new dimensionality to one's body of work, as well as a tool to liven-up documentation, press materials, and media posts. Attendees will recieve a unique introduction to animation basics as it pertains to a personal art practice, create their own animated excercises, and discuss on how animation can best augment their existing practice. Sculptors, painters, performers, architects, musicians, textile artists, etc... All are welcome! No previous experience with animation is necessary.
Matt Reynolds is a sculptor and animated filmmaker working in Los Angeles. In 2016 he received an MFA in Experimental Animation from CalArts. His short films have won awards at The San Francisco International Film Festival, The Anim’est International Animation Festival in Romania, and The Ann Arbor Film Festival. As a commercial animation director, he has worked for such clients as The Atlantic, Adult Swim, and Spotify. He has 12 years of experience as a Teaching Artist.
