Warwick Castle has sixty acres of grounds and gardens – and over one thousand trees. The landscape as we see it today has been developed since the mid-eighteenth century, when Francis Greville employed a young Lancelot Brown to landscape the Castle Courtyard. In subsequent decades, further tree planting and expansion of the pleasure grounds continued. During the 1860s, Robert Marnock, the famed designer of Regents Park, provided the design for the formal parterre garden, known today as the Peacock Garden.
Join Matt Halford, Warwick Castle’s Head of Estates, to learn more about the wonderful variety of veteran and notable trees.
