Celebrate the women and femme stewards of culture during Asian Heritage Month and Mother’s Day with Matriarch’s Day!
Join us in celebrating Matriarch's Day a special event honoring the matriarchs who have long been the pillars of culture family and representation. In recognition of Asian Heritage Month and Mother's Day our event will feature two captivating performances and a workshop:

1:20PM - Traditional Uyghur dance workshop by Adalat Dance Academy
3:00PM - Dance performance & tribute to late community poet and activist William Lim by Carnegie Dance Troupe of Karen Jamieson Dance.
In addition to these performances attendees can participate in a FREE drop-in floral workshop led by local artist @shyegg_ where you can learn to create beautiful pipecleaner flowers that will last a lifetime. Explore our mini market area where local Chinatown elders will be selling their handmade wares. Please remember to bring cash to support these vendors and shop at the event - 100% of sales go back to the vendors. Join us for a day of celebration and community!

Celebrating community joy is our most powerful resistance to these forces - let's come together and celebrate in Chinatown as one!
